Brent LeMoine was only 26 years old when he passed away from Burkitt's Lymphoma, an aggressive form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Though his life was taken too soon, he touched so many lives.​ Brent was a tall guy with a build that could lift anything in his path, but he had an even bigger heart. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend. While attending college at Grinnell University, he played basketball. There, he built friendships with teammates that continue to touch the lives of his family today. ​During Brent's cancer treatments, it became clear that there were not a lot of programs out there that supported cancer patients in his age bracket. That frustrated him. He often spoke about making a difference for future young adult patients like himself. And this is where our mission begins. ​We are challenging ourselves to keep Brent's wish and ask that you join us as we strive to make a difference.​

Where does our name come from?

Brent’s-Giving is rooted in the belief that generosity, kindness, and selflessness can leave a lasting impact on the lives of others. Those values are beautifully reflected in The Giving Tree, both in Shel Silverstein’s timeless story and in the heartfelt essay written by Hayes Gardner following the passing of his close friend, Brent LeMoine.
